Robert "Tink" Tuftee
Tink has been involved in stage combat since 1980. In 1987 he
became a certified Actor/Combatant in the SAFD and in 1997 achieved the rank of SAFD Fight
Director.
He has performed and/or choreographed fights - swordplay, gunplay and hand-to-hand
combat from a variety of historical periods - in professional and academic venues that include
the Metropolitan Opera, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Circle Rep Lab, National Black
Theatre Co., The LAB Theatre Co., Tiny Mythic Theatre Co, The Women's Project, Harlem School
of the Arts, New York Renaissance Festival, La Mama, Pulse Ensemble (all in NY), the British
Academy of Stage and Screen Combat Summer Workshop (London), the University of Iowa and
Riverside Theatre (IA), Downstage Theatre Co. (CT) and New American Theatre (IL).
He also
choreographs for film, including the award-winning short, Alkali, Iowa, as well as the
independent features Pizza, which recently premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival, and
Light and the Sufferer.
